Adam Daffurn is a composer, songwriter and producer, from Herefordshire. With musical genres never an issue, his work ranges from soundtracks for hard hitting documentaries and short films, TV adverts, along with band production, educational videos and even children's songs, as well as multiple personal musical projects.
Earlier in 2022 Adam composed and produced all the music to Channel 4's up coming, hour long documentary 'Good Grief' - produced by Heidi Gomes and directed by Chris Hailes (Bowled Over media productions). Presented by Reverend Richard Coles, who's husband David died at the end 2019, the show explores the subject of grief and how to live with it positively. From unusual laughter yoga, a Grief Cruise in Miami, high energy boxing and exhilarating surfing to playing with therapy alpacas and dining with others who are grieving, Rev Coles embraces every opportunity as he discovers a tool-kit of therapies and ideas to help him explore a good grief.
Good Grief will air on channel 4 on the 8th August 2022 at 10pm.
In 2019 Adam scored the beautifully shot, Australian feature: Half a Million Steps – an uplifting film which went on to play a big role in securing $305 million in government funding and in changing current drug policy in the country. While 2020 saw the release of Ten Dollar Death Trip – a raw and truly harrowing documentary about the fentanyl crisis in Canada and the US, featuring Adam's original and suitably gritty soundtrack. This led on to being asked to create the music for a short animation for the Global Commission on Drug Policy in 2021. A trailer/sizzle reel for the next film Adam will be working on: Feel the Burn, which is currently in production can be found online. This documentary follows a UK firefighter on a soul searching, cinematic journey across the Saharan Desert, aiming to break down the stigma around men's mental health.
Film music aside, he has also written and produced material for various TV adverts for companies such as Boux Avenue, Ashton & Parson's and Cryotag, as well as several pieces for the Marine Conservation Society, including their Great British Beach Clean and Micro Fibre campaigns.
Amongst the hundreds of songs Adam has written, he was commissioned by the company Lingwiser to compose 'Irregular Verbs' – a light hearted and ridiculously catchy tune to aid people learning English as a second language, which has already built up over 4 million views on YouTube.
Adam has also created music for various record labels, including subsidiaries of BMG, APM, Lemon Cake and The Hit Music Group.
Adam is also the co founder of the voice over and production company 'Daffurn Sounds' who have worked on a huge variety of projects, including audio for companies such as Red Bull, Shell, The Anne Frank House and many others. You can find out more about the services offered at www.daffurnsounds.com
